Love, One Choice at a Time!

Hey y’all…Hope here with another one of my Hopeservations and this one is straight from the HEART… As of July 15, 2019, I am officially 23 days from the start of my 26th year in education. WOW! As I write 26 years, it seems hard for me to believe. And yet, these 23 days are 23 days before I get back to one of my GREATEST passions and I thought about this quote that I posted to my Instagram a few years ago “You never lose by loving, you always lose by holding back.” – Barbara DeAngelis As children, we typically love unconditionally but somewhere along the way, as we age…

Don’t Call it a Dream, Call it a GOAL!

“Consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do.” – Pope John XXIII Hey y’all! Hope here, with a question and a little hopeservation about our kids, sports and being their parent… So I just returned from our annual summer vacation, and jumped right back into the summer swing of life with none other then? You guessed it… VOLLEYBALL!!!   When it got me to thinking, do you remember what you did two years ago today? Turns out,…

2019 is Here and I did a Thing!

2019 is here, and I did a thing! Firstly, I would like to wish you all a joyous New Year, full of peace and happiness. How about 2018?! It was quite the awesome ride and am I forever thankful! Thankful for the many new friends I met along the way and the true friendships and family I’ve come to appreciate more and more. Thankful for God, the Universe and all we are blessed with every day. I look back over the year with happiness and fulfillment, despite the ever present hard lessons that insert themselves along the way. Yes, there are bumps and bruises every year but much progress is…

Look for Growth in Little Ways

Hey World! So I haven’t published a blog in about three weeks and it was starting to get me down! Which is silly because it is completely within my control to write and publish or not write and not publish. Truth be told, I always have about 3 blogs in draft form with about 6 to 10 more back up ideas churning about in this brain of mine! Lord knows, I have plenty of material yet it is always the out of the blue, sideways moments that end up getting written about and published! True to form, this blog is no different! I think like most educators around this…

    Living In Balance

Life can hold both internal and external demands on the daily! As a result we may find ourselves striving mentally. Urging ourselves to go full speed ahead, in an effort to complete everything on our “to do” daily life list! This is where living in balance becomes so very important. Now, I can’t lie – many of us who choose to live the Florida lifestyle do so because we were blessed enough to recognized it naturally slows us down and as a result we manage to more easily keep our lives in balance! We tend to go a little slower and not get so anxious about things beyond our control.…

    What Is Reality

What is reality? How often do we consider the definition of reality? When you look up reality these are some common definitions… “Reality means the world or the state of things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them • a thing that is actually experienced or seen • a thing that exists in fact, having previously only existed in one’s mind” It also is quite entrenched in psychology where the reality principle is the ability of the mind to assess the external world, and to act upon it accordingly, as opposed to acting on the pleasure principle. • How many of us actively…

    In The Spirit Of Love

“You shall love the Lord, your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.” – Mark 12:30 As the sun set on Valentine’s, and the day came to pass…the usual thought came to mind that we don’t truly need a day to celebrate love. We can celebrate love all the days of our lives. Love is much like a ray of light that expands into a rainbow as it passes through a prism. Love exists as multiple expressions in our lives! Knowing that love is everywhere – present around me, within me and as me – assures…

    About Hope and Hopeservations!

So true to Hope form, after years and years of wetting a toe and pondering the idea…as everyone may or may not have figured out by now…I jumped into the blogging world waters feet first and the deep end to boot. Sure, I got lucky in that, I starting cultivated the tone and brand for my blog Hopeservations years ago when I started moving all my social media’s over to that particular hashtag and title…but that was just by chance. It simply seemed the smart thing to do in the event I ever did finally kick off a blog but I didn’t really know that back in 2014, although I…

    Happy 100 And Countin’!

So while this might seem a humble start, I am pleased to announce my baby blog has reached 100 subscribers! Now in the scheme of mega-counts and followers, we all know 100 is a drop in the bucket. Yet, each one of YOUR drops in MY bucket…represents a little drop saying, “hey, I am interested in what you have to say!” Which in this day and age, when everything pulls and tugs at our attention, that means so much! Not to mention, it is one drop closer to filling the bucket! Although in this case, the proverbial bucket is welcome to overflow! I will be honest, since I am generally brimming…
