It’s me Hope with another one of my “Beautiful Beginnings” that I’m hoping everyone will appreciate, possibly find value in and consider adopting some version for themselves!
Because I think it’s super important to plug into some form of beautiful beginnings to start our day and for me, that means mornings and sunrises!
And this morning was no different!
It was another glorious sunrise, and I recognized how thankful I am for the balance & cultivated simplicity of my life.
“The secret to a good morning is to watch the sunrise with an open heart.” – Anthony T. Hincks
…and boy oh boy do I welcome the mornings by watching the sunrise with an open heart!
Mornings and sunrises are a sublime meeting on the horizon. If one thinks of the definition of sublime, a more accurate description couldn’t be had…
To be “of such excellence, grandeur, or beauty as to inspire great admiration or awe.”
When I reflect on that, I find it to be perfectly à propos.
I know it inspires great admiration and awe in me as I watch such excellence, grandeur and beauty!
Not to mention, mornings and sunrises are truly meant to go together. They are LITERALLY a new dawn and so, I patiently wait by the water’s edge at day break. Like an old friend I can count on, I’m never let down – no matter the circumstances or my mood.
Brilliant or rainy, glorious or not…those sunrises represent life and like life, I love each opportunity to witness whatever may come. I greet and embrace my beautiful friend, just as the morning and sunrise greet me. It’s like a warm hug and vibrant hello!
They mark my new day, fresh start, turn the page, clean slate, new phase, beginning again, different attitude, get up and let go…or let’s GO!
I get to set my heartfelt intentions for the day and there truly is nothing more refreshing then a restart!
Not sure or can’t recall?
Don’t take my word for it! Please take a moment to remind yourself and be prepared to be BLOWN away at the gratitude and hopefulness that will wash over you in that moment. Go see your old friend and reconnect! Or, if it hasn’t been a part of your daily ritual, it might be time to make a change!
Whatever practice you cultivate for your
You’ll be glad you did.
Here are some questions you can ask yourself as you start your day!
• What am I grateful for?
• What no longer serves me?
• What do I need to let go of?
• In what new way can I look at things?
• What might I need to see differently?
• Is it fact, faith or feeling? (My new favorite)
Here are some affirmations you can say to yourself as you start your day!
• I resolve to face this day with a spirit of newness and life!
• Today is my new dawn
• I resolve to own this place of peace and carry it with me through out my day.
These are just a few ideas to get you started, where you go from there is your journey to take.
My friend (shout out to Kelly Purcell) recently commented that every morning she writes a daily gratitude journal. I thought, “WOW!” and I loved her reflections on how she has years of these journals to look back on. How cool is that? A living gratitude timeline! (not to mention it gave me even more ideas for the future and boy oh boy, there’s never a shortage of ideas, amiright?) I won’t lie, I was amazed at her daily dedication to this practice but that’s kinda what it’s all about.
Some daily dedication that brings fulfillment and joy. Something that helps create a fresh outlook everyday.
…And so I will continue to be good with my mindful, hopeful, intentional mornings! It is simple yet it is simply by design.
Is that to say life doesn’t still get confusing or messy or hectic or overwhelming or just downright hard sometimes…NO WAY…for sure it does. Whoa! You know it does!
Yet I have found what works for me. These quick self care moments help keep my life in simple harmony and allow me to put all the confusing, messy, hectic, overwhelming or hard into the proper perspective.
It’s my time to discern and align myself with mindful intentions, to affirm, have a few moments of meditation and if nothing else, allow the beauty of nature to wash over me like the sun and tide washes over the beach and I take some serious deep cleansing breaths as I ready myself for the day.
Because I’m choosing to live simply hopeful, simply balanced, simply peaceful, simply serene, simply a beach filled life that brings me a daily reminder that there is magic in the coming day and to welcome beautiful beginnings in even the most simple of moments.
