Happy New Years and Happy Birthday to Hopeservations!

It’s hard to believe I’ve kept my little blog going for TWO years now! I can’t call it a “baby” blog any longer as it’s officially become a TODDLER!

Statistics say most bloggers abandon their blogs in the first nine months. Welp, we made it past that hurdle for sure! We are alive and kicking…and sometimes we kick forward and sometimes we kick back. As in some time, we are full steam ahead and other times, we put our feet up and productivity goes on hiatus!

Being that I’m all about looking for the patterns with human behavior, I’ve looked for my own pattern attached to my blog and honestly, with this one – I can’t find it. One summer I wasn’t productive at all…another summer I was highly productive. One winter I posted on the steady and another, not so much! So I’ve come to the conclusion that this particular adventure simply ebbs and flows, weaving and intertwining with my life. So I’ve decided to be good with it.

I’m a firm believer that slow and steady will win the race, and while I’m not sure what race I am referring to as there really isn’t any – what I am sure of, it’s only about me getting better and better everyday! So while I might go in stops and starts, I haven’t quit because here I am with 63 blogs published over these last two years!

Whoa – that averages to 2.64 blogs a month. What the heck…2.64?!? That’s a silly number but you get the idea! Besides, if we round up – that’s an average of nearly three blogs a month and with a little push I’m pretty sure I can accomplish my goal of four blogs a month. Who knows? Time will tell.

A few things that are cool about building Hopeservations is, it’s a blog that currently has

• over 800 followers

• been read in over 29 countries

• over 60K viewership on Pinterest

I feel pretty excited about some of those stats. I have more but it gets a little tedious.

Have you ever googled “Hopeservations”…there is a lot of stuff out there that I have written and created! And really, so much of it I am pretty darn proud of!

So when I feel frustrated or think things have become stagnant, I continued to remind myself…just be patient, you are staying centered in your moments with your family and this will come in starts and stops and maybe even back around multiple times over…but you are moving forward! After-all we are celebrating a birthday!

Crazy enough, it looks like many of my 2013 heartfelt intentions manifested into a reality with the birth of Hopeservations. Both when I first coined it in 2014, then created the official site in 2018. I said I wanted to write more and I did. I said I wanted to love deeply, express thanks, help others, be creative, speak kindly, live in the moment with my family, etc – etc – etc and all of those things I have accomplished and continue developing!

So hey, here is a favorite of mine that always seems good at this time of year and as my toddler blog celebrates a birthday, it seems especially fitting!

“Be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to clothe yourselves with the new self, created according to the likeness of God.” – Ephesians 4:23-24
